Trinity looking to finish off Bridgeport
Holy Trinity High School will look to finish what they started in their rescheduled Group A ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup game against Bridgeport High School at the Royal Lakes field today.
Trinity were leading 1-0 when heavy rain and lightning forced the match to be abandoned at the start of the second period.
They lead the group with 15 points, one ahead of Cumberland. They are followed by Haile Selassie and St Jago on 11 points each and Bridgeport on 10. In the group’s other games, Cumberland will host Haile Selassie and St Jago entertain Clan Carthy (0).
Trinity head coach Devon Anderson said the remainder of today’s match is very crucial for his team as they seek to extend their lead atop the group.
“These last 45 minutes are very important because they can make the difference in if we win the group or finish second,” Anderson said. “Our aim is to win. So we just have to go out and ensure that we finish off the game,” he said.
Meanwhile, surprise team Jonathan Grant will be looking to extend their lead atop Group B when they entertain Denham Town. Jonathan Grant lead the group with 20 points, seven ahead of Charlie Smith, who have two games in hand.
In the group’s other games, Charlie Smith will host Ascot (10) and Donald Quarrie (10) await Kingston High (three).
