Luxury pit stops for Dover's patrons
For Dover's motor racing patrons who want to enjoy the day's events in fine style, Kamau Janai thinks he has the solution. The VIP all-inclusive lounge.
"You won't have to think about the sun, the heat, food or even bring your igloos. We'll take care of all that," the sponsporship and media coordinator at the Constant Spring Road-based GeoKel Service said.
Janai said the idea for the lounge was conceptualised last October and has been growing steadily.
"It's getting bigger and bigger," he said.
The sponsporship and media coordinator said for a premium price, racing patrons can have a great vantage point at the meet.
And, the price?
"It's $3,500 pre-sold while $4,000 at the gate. The cost covers food, drinks and comfortable seating arrangements while the patrons have the opportunity of rubbing shoulder-to-shoulder with celebrities."
While some may argue that a lounge reduces the race-meet exprience as patrons are far removed from the action, Janai argues that enjoying the meet in comfortable and relaxed environment adds to the excitement.
A similar corporate pit stop exists at the raceway and is owned by fuel providers, Total.
"We use our facility to treat specially invited guests of Total. We do not charge a fee," said Andrea Morgan, marketing executive at Total.
"And, we do pamper our guests," she said.
