The Addams Family 2

An extraordinary vacation

Everyone’s favourite spooky family is back in the animated comedy sequel, The Addams Family 2. In this all-new movie, we find Morticia and Gomez distraught that their children are growing up, skipping family dinners, and totally consumed with ‘scream time’. To reclaim their bond, they decide to cram Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester and the crew into their haunted camper and hit the road for one last miserable family vacation. Their adventure across America takes them out of their element and into hilarious run-ins with their iconic cousin, IT, as well as many new kooky characters. What could possibly go wrong?

The film is directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan. Music is by Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna. The story is by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit.

Halloween Kills

Time to revolt

Michael Myers escapes from Laurie Strode’s trap to continue his ritual bloodbath. After she is injured and hospitalised, Laurie endures the pain and encourages residents of Haddonfield, Illinois, to come together and fight against the terror. The hunt for Myers is on. Will this be the end of his reign of terror?

Halloween Kills is a horror film and sequel to 2018’s Halloween and the 12th instalment in the Halloween franchise. This film is directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride and Scott Teems. Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprise their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, along with Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, and Will Patton who also reprise their roles from the previous film, with Anthony Michael Hall and Thomas Mann joining the cast.

Second BIG week

No Time to Die

The mission that changes everything

No Time to Die continues at Palace Amusement cinemas and Jamaica is still basking in the energy of the world-famous British agent, 007. After all, the bonds between the rock and Ian Fleming’s fictional character are stronger than ever and this week we celebrate another British-Jamaican actress, Naomie Harris, who reprises her role as Moneypenny in No Time to Die.

The daughter of a Jamaican mother and a Trinidadian father, Harris joined the Bond cinematic universe as Eve Moneypenny, the sassy private secretary to MI6 leader M, in Skyfall 2012, followed by Spectre in 2015. In 2017, Harris was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the drama Moonlight, which copped the Best Picture Award that year. She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in the 2017 for her services to drama.

Harris is the only non-white actress to play Moneypenny. While she’s not considered a Bond girl, she is the first Moneypenny to have romantic moments with James Bond.

Her Jamaica-born mother, Lisselle Kayla, was a screenwriter for the popular British television programme, Eastenders.

In No Time To Die, Bond (Daniel Craig) has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend, Felix Leiter from the CIA, turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond on to the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

The film is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. It stars Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Academy Award nominee, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Academy Award winner Ralph Fiennes, Ana de Armas, Billy Magnussen, Rory Kinnear, David Dencik and Dali Benssalah.

No Time to Die is based on James Bond by Ian Fleming, and is partially filmed in Jamaica. It is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, with music by Hans Zimmer.
