Chevelle Franklyn to minister at The Experience in Nigeria
Internationally acclaimed Jamaican gospel artiste Chevelle Franklyn will perform at House On The Rock’s The Experience @20, one of the world’s largest gospel concerts, themed ‘Jesus United’. The event is set for Friday, December 5 at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, Nigeria, starting at 7 p.m. Convened by Paul Adefarasin, senior pastor of House On The Rock Church, this year marks the concert’s 20th staging.
Speaking on her upcoming performance, Franklyn shared, “It’s an honour to be part of The Experience @20. This is not just a concert to me, it’s a divine gathering where nations unite in one sound, one name, and one purpose: Jesus.”
The all-night worship encounter will feature a dynamic roster of world-renowned artistes, including Travis Greene, Israel Houghton, Sinach, Mercy Chinwo, Naomi Raine, Chandler Moore, among others. And, for the first time, Tolu Odukoya and Gaise Baba.
Franklyn’s inclusion brings a vibrant Caribbean expression to the night of worship. With a ministry that bridges continents and cultures, her music continues to inspire believers through its authenticity, depth, and prophetic message.
Now in its 20th year, the event remains a major gathering of faith and unity. The free concert draws hundreds of thousands of attendees from Nigeria, across Africa, and around the world. It brings people together across race, class, and denomination to declare one name above all others.
Since the release of her acclaimed album South Wind Vol. 1, recorded in South Africa, Franklyn has enjoyed tremendous success and international recognition. The project’s unique fusion of English and Zulu worship has been celebrated globally for its cultural richness and spiritual resonance.
Since the start of the year, Franklyn has received several major honours, including Female Artiste of the Year at both the Canadian Selah Music Awards and the Sterling Gospel Music Awards, plus two Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards for Outstanding Praise & Worship Recording (Female) and Outstanding Adapted Recording (Female), along with Sterling’s Album of the Year. She also received two Grammy Certificates for her vocal contributions to previous award-winning projects, further solidifying her place among the most respected voices in gospel music.
In addition to her musical achievements, Franklyn continues to extend her ministry beyond the stage through humanitarian outreach. In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, Franklyn has been actively assisting affected families by providing essential supplies, personal care packages, and spiritual support through her networks. Her compassionate response reflects the same heart of unity and service that defines her music, a ministry anchored in love, faith, and action.
