Sierra Leone Consulate celebrates official opening with authentic food
When the new Sierra Leone Honorary Consulate in Jamaica had its official opening on February 7 in Belvedere, St Andrew, authentic cuisine from the West African country had to be on the menu for representatives of both that country and Jamaica, along with specially invited guests.
In an effort for the delegation to bring tastes of Sierra Leone to Jamaica, they asked one of that nation’s most beloved chefs, Niematulai Digrazia, owner and founder of RNL Authentic LLC, to tag along on the flights to Jamaica, along with some treasured dishes from the Republic.
Digrazia told The Gleaner she would never have backed down from this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and she took the ingredients of four main dishes for the opening, which Food now highlights.
