With help from some of Jamaica’s top bartenders, Appleton Estate has crafted a fresh line-up of cocktails suited for any vibe — from a relaxed night in to a lively evening out with friends.
From the Otaheite spice, a bold twist with Jamaican flair, and indulgence and its smooth, rich, and oh-so-luxurious finish, to the passion of Joy, a vibrant, fruity, and full of life cocktail, these new mixes are the ultimate passport.
OTAHEITE SPICE
INGREDIENTS
6 Otaheite apple slices
2 strips Scotch bonnet pepper
1.5 oz Appleton Estate 12 Year Old Rare Casks Rum
1 oz lime juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
Splash ginger extract
1 oz sour cherry liqueur
DIRECTIONS
1. Muddle apple slices and Scotch bonnet pepper.
2. Add rum and all other ingredients.
3. Add mixture to a shaker cup with ice.
4. Strain and serve the mixture over a rock glass with ice.
INDULGENCE
INGREDIENTS
2 oz bacon, browned in butter
1.5 oz Appleton Estate 8 Year Old Reserve Rum
0.5 oz simple syrup
0.5 oz lemon juice
2-4 dashes of bitters
1 oz dry sparkling wine
DIRECTIONS
1. Add bitters, simple syrup, lime juice and rum to the shaker with ice.
2. Thoroughly shake the mixture together, then pour over fresh ice in a rock glass. Add dry sparkling wine on top.
3. Add one strip of candied bacon and a lime twist for garnishing.
THE PASSION OF JOY
INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz Appleton 12 Year Old Rare Casks Rum
1.5 oz passion syrup
0.5 oz lime juice
0.5 oz pimento syrup
DIRECTIONS
1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake the mixture.
2. Pour mixture into a martini glass or coupe glass (no ice).
3. Garnish with any edible flower.
COCOHELLA
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Appleton Estate 8 Year Old Reserve Rum
1.5 oz coconut syrup
1.5 oz guava juice
0.5 oz lime juice
DIRECTIONS
1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake the mixture together.
2. Lather the rim of a rock glass with coconut syrup and dip the glass in coconut drops.
3. Pour the mixture into a glass with ice.
4. Garnish the glass with a slice of dehydrated lemon or mint.
