Arnold ‘Junior’ Foote – statesman, family man, friend
THE EDITOR, Madam:
It is difficult to think about Junior Foote without recalling his dedication to family, friends, business, country, and diplomatic pursuits. However, what is unforgettable is his kindness.
He was a close family friend and one whose friendship my late husband, Edward Seaga, cherished sincerely. It was well known that there were very few friends who could convince him to leave his desk and work, but Junior could. Junior’s warmth and overwhelming hospitality resulted in us enjoying many happy breaks by the sea with him and his devoted wife, Tricia.
Junior’s passion for his country was tireless. He always saw creative possibilities, and he had unmistakable talent and business acumen. However, these attributes did not stand in isolation as for those lucky enough to call him “friend,” we also saw his faith.
He truly believed that no matter how difficult a situation was His Creator would lead the way. That sure and certain belief was an inspiration to many of us.
We shall deeply miss him and pray that his cherished memory will provide comfort to his beloved family.
