Our quest for yet another object of architectural desire steers us to this undisclosed, private locality directly on the coast of Galina, St Mary. Today it finally reveals itself!

This house, unlike many others, doesn’t manifest an unconventional, elaborate shape to amaze you, instead, what its symmetrical architecture achieves is an appearance of composure, harmony, and attractiveness.

The honoured Puerto Rican (now retired) owner, first landed in Jamaica in 1989, and yes, as is so often the case, became enraptured by the lifestyle of the populace, returning loyally every year since.

The three-year-old villa built by the retiree and his supportive local crew took two years to accomplish.

The glass monopolised structure with phenomenal panoramas from rooms, admit the mountains to the north, and the infinite azure sea to the south.

Its inner sanctum is awash with the finest in fixtures, fittings, and finishes, such as porcelain floor tiles imported from Spain and Portugal; rich marble augmenting bathroom and kitchen counters; double -sink bathroom vanities; unencumbered bathroom seated showers – no curtains or glass; and walls painted in light and dark hues.

The 4,000 square-foot single-floor constitution unfolds with four king–size bedded rooms ensuite, with informal assemblages of the kitchen, living, and dining spaces mingling in an enjoyable open–plan concept. Multiple gable roof patios accessing these areas offer an indispensable escape to the outdoors, rewarding you with al fresco dining and entertainment.

A single-car garage with automated doors and a porte cochere out front adds to the amenities.

The ‘can’t wait to jump in’ swimming pool welcomes the overtures of the almost touching sea, with built–in sun loungers to stretch out on.

A roofed, garden wet bar creates the best cocktails, and a separate cabana allows relaxation from the sun’s rays.

Your spirits are uplifted at the sight of 30 palm, and 11 coconut trees gently swaying in the wind, amplified by the aesthetics of the overall colourful landscaped setting.

“In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity,” once said Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. This quote sums up best my thoughts on this villa.
