5-y-o among four shot, hospitalised in west Kingston

On the eve of the new school year, a five-year-old child has been hospitalised after being shot in Denham Town, west Kingston this afternoon.

Investigators are still at the scene of the shooting, which took place at about 1:00 o'clock.

The child and three men were shot at the intersection of Tulip Lane and Milk Lane in the community. One of the men is said to be in critical condition.

West Kingston has been experiencing an upsurge in violence, which the police say has been the result of gang warfare.
