Police hunt man accused of raping 15-year-old in St Catherine
Police in St Catherine are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl during a break-in at her home on Thursday.
The Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse is leading the probe, which is being investigated as indecent assault, rape, burglary and assault at common law.
According to police reports, about 4 a.m. on September 11, the teen was at home in a rural St Catherine community when a man armed with a gun entered through a window.
The intruder allegedly pointed the weapon at the girl, threatened her to remain quiet, and then raped her. He escaped from the dwelling after the assault.
The victim later told relatives of her ordeal, and the matter was reported to the police. An investigation has since been launched.
