UC Rusal Alumina Jamaica Ltd/WINDALCO has invested more than $27m in its annual back-to-school programme. More than $9m of that amount was spent to host back-to-school fairs in St Catherine and St Ann where hundreds of students benefitted from free medical checks and received more than $1m in book vouchers and other school supplies. The company also awarded scholarships and grants to 73 students pursuing higher education and nine students who were successful in the recent PEP exams. The students were awarded at a ceremony at WINDALCO’s Ewarton Works Sports Club on August 28.
