The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Area Council Three on Sunday nominated Dr Andrew Holness unopposed to remain the party’s leader for another political year.

Area Council Three Chairman Zavia Mayne moved the nomination, and Pearnel Charles Jr, Member of Parliament for Clarendon South Eastern, seconded it.

The Area Council also nominated Michael Stern unopposed to return as its deputy leader.

The two were nominated at an Area Council Three meeting at the Porus Community Centre in the Manchester Southern constituency.

The party’s annual conference is scheduled to be held in November, when the positions of leader and deputy leader will be formally up for ratification.
