West Indies vs Bangladesh | Mayers unbeaten century keeps Windies in command

All-rounder Kyle Mayers played a mature innings by scoring an unbeaten century to help the West Indies to a formidable position over Bangladesh at stumps on day two of the second Test in St Lucia.

When stumps were drawn, the left hander was not out on 126, as the West Indies reach 340 for five for an overall lead of 106 runs.

Wicket-keeper Joshua Da Silva is unbeaten on 26, as he and Mayers have so far put on 92 runs for the sixth wicket.

It wasn’t the only huge partnership that Mayers has been involved in, as he and Jermaine Blackwood added 116 runs for the fifth wicket, before Blackwood was adjudged lbw to spinner Mehidy Hasan for 40.

Earlier, the West Indies got a solid opening partnership of 100 from captain Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell. Campbell made 45 while Brathwaite got 51 before the Windies lost a flurry of wickets before lunch.

Raymon Reifer made 21, while Nkrumah Bonner went without scoring. Pacer Khaled Ahmed, has so far, bagged two wickets for 77 runs while spinner Mehidy has picked up two wickets for 68 runs.
