FORMER CLARENDON College daCosta Cup star Nicque Daley is the latest addition to the Mount Pleasant roster for the upcoming Jamaica Premier League (JPL) football season, which will get under way later this month.

The 21-year-old Daley, who has represented Jamaica at the under-17, -20 and -23 levels had his first training session on Thursday with the St Ann-based team at Drax Hall after putting pen to paper.

Daley, who in 2018 finished the schoolboy season with some 21 goals, turned out 14 times for Cavalier SC in the JPL before departing for a spell at USL outfit, Charleston Battery. The Battery then loaned Daley to Cincinnati FC where Daley played 16 times, scoring once.

Daley was happy to be back in Jamaica.

“It is a great feeling to be back in Jamaica and to be a part of the Mount Pleasant set-up after spending three years in North America. The experience overseas was very good and that will really help me to transition back at the local level,” he said.

“The aim for me is to just work hard and be amongst the goals like I have done in the past. This is an exciting time for me and I am looking forward to the support from my fans and teammates,” said Daley.

Daley is the Theodore Whitmore-coached Mount Pleasant’s 12th signing with the forward joining Fakibi Farqhuarson, Melvin Doxilly, Demario Phillips, Leanardo Jibbison, Shaquille Dyer, Odane Murray, and Tafari Chambers.

Other new signings for Mount Pleasant include Daniel Russell, Kimani Campbell, Dwight Merrick and Kimoni Bailey.
