Scores of Corporate Area taxi operators this morning withdrew their services to protest last night's murder of one of their colleagues in Dunrobin, St Andrew.

The protest has resulted in a traffic pile-up and delays for motorists along the Washington Boulevard.

It's reported that around 9 o'clock last night, gunmen posing as passengers shot the taxi driver in the head.

He was then pushed from the vehicle onto the road as the men made off with his car.

This is the second killing of a taxi operator in as many days.

On Tuesday night, 63-year-old Michael Swaby was shot dead in Three Oaks, St Andrew, reportedly by a man who had posed as a passenger.
