One death, 56 new COVID cases

Of the newly confirmed cases, 19 males and 37 females, with ages ranging from 6 to 89 years old.

A 69-year-old woman from Manchester has died from COVID-19 complications, increasing total fatalities to 16.

Meanwhile, Jamaica on Friday recorded 56 new COVID cases, pushing the total to 1,346, with four critical and seven moderate.

Recoveries remain at 788 while active cases are now at 471.

Of the newly confirmed cases, 19 males and 37 females, with ages ranging from 6 to 89 years old.

The Health Ministry said nine of the new cases are contacts of confirmed cases; five are local transmission not epidemiologically linked; two are imported, arriving on flights from USA and the UK; and 40 cases are under investigation.
