Special curfew hours for Whitfield Town, Waterford
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced special curfew hours for the communities of Whitfield Town in Kingston and Waterford in St Catherine which have both seen a spike in COVID cases in recent days.
Whitfield Town now has 21 active COVID cases while Waterford has 24 cases and three deaths.
Speaking in Parliament Tuesday, Holness said, effective immediately, both communities will be under curfew from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m., daily.
The prime minister also said gatherings in these areas should not exceed six persons.
The nightly curfew hours for the rest of Jamaica runs from 8 p.m to 5 a.m, daily.
