Craig Town residents fear another nine-day wonder
That lingering disunity is cause for concern in Craig Town, one of the gritty and dense communities of the capital that could become a powder keg in the blink of an eye.
Residents said that they were still in the dark about whether any suspect has been charged since Robinson’s body was dug from a shallow grave on April 3, days after she went missing.
“Since them question who fi question, nothing nuh happen. So, it look like it nah go no weh,” a neighbour who gave her name as Julian told The Gleaner on Sunday.
“... The police just a drag dem foot so,” she added.
Robinson, 50, had been living in a multi-dwelling house but disappeared for five days without a trace until her brother, Errol Green, started to dig a spot under a mango tree in the yard where her killer had buried her body.
An officer at the Admiral Town Police Station, which is close by Benbow Street, where Robinson lived and met her demise, told The Gleaner on Sunday that detectives attached to the Denham Town Police Station were the ones conducting the investigation.
The Gleaner understands that one of the main detectives assigned to the case has taken leave from work.
The status of the investigation was unclear up to Sunday.
Another neighbour who calls herself 'P' said that occupants of a section of the house have been scorned by the community since the discovery of Robinson’s body.
“Nobody no go over deh!” she declared in reference to the occupants of the home.
The disharmony was palpable as the news team stopped nearby the house on Sunday, with barbs directed to the residents.
A similar sentiment was held by relatives of Robinson's who believe that a resident of the dwelling must have been aware of the killing and burial of the woman.
