Prank gone wrong
Man’s hands glued to steering wheel requires medical intervention
A lighthearted prank took a serious turn when a young man’s hands became glued to the steering wheel of his car, requiring urgent medical assistance.
Several hospital staff members had to intervene to resolve the situation.
In response, the Southern Regional Health Authority (SRHA) is cautioning the public about the dangers of pranks that could lead to medical emergencies.
“With the healthcare system already under immense pressure, incidents like these place an unnecessary burden on staff and resources,” SRHA said.
The SRHA is also urging individuals to refrain from recording and sharing videos of healthcare workers and patients in public health spaces without consent, as this is unlawful.
This specific prank was recorded and shared on social media, raising additional concerns.
“While pranks can be fun and harmless, the SRHA emphasises that they should not violate laws, cause distress, or endanger others,” the health agency said.
The health authority, which oversees public healthcare in St Elizabeth, Manchester, and Clarendon, is calling for more responsible behaviour to ensure the safety and well-being of all.
