RGD, please help!
THE EDITOR, Madam:
I write for assistance on a matter regarding the Registrar General’s Department (RGD).
I have been living in Jamaica without a birth certificate for over 30 years now. I was born on August 6, 1994 - on a Saturday. So I wasn’t registered at birth to get a birth certificate. I visited the RGD offices but keep getting papers and papers to fill out.
My biggest issue is that the records say that I am a male but, actually, I was born a female. I went to the hospital with letters several times to get a record. They gave me a letter to take to the RGD office. The RGD office told me that my mother needs to come in and do a interview but she refuses to do so. I am trying very hard to get this matter sorted out but I cannot get my mother’s help, and I do not know what else to do. I am following all the rules and am still not getting through. RGD or anyone/agency, please help!
