Ishion Hutchinson prioritised a Jamaican homecoming in his holiday plans. As a Cornell University professor specialising in creative writing and poetry, and hailing from Port Antonio, it felt natural for him to introduce his latest poetry collection, ‘School of Instructions’ on his native island. Released internationally last month, the collection delves into the lives of Jamaican military heroes from World War I as its central theme.
