Bird-inspired haven soars over Billy’s Bay shores
The 3,600-square-foot, airy, open design, is defined by four bedrooms encouraging repose, and five befitting bathrooms, some with outdoor showers. The soaring double-floor height living area crowns the centre, while the kitchen distinguishes itself with polished timber counters. A covered terrace extends along the entire length of the house, with birds-eye views of dolphins gracefully swimming by before your very eyes.
Further design details include: a concrete slab roof, polished concrete floors and walls painted in white with colourful works of art dazzling the eyes like the plumage on birds. Accent pieces are in deep blue-green and orange. A separate self-contained staff quarters is integrated on the three-quarters-of-an-acre lot. Solar lighting and heating are in place.
Yes, we hear the melodic tunes permeating the air from feathered creatures, as we dip into the infinity pool of pleasure, surrounded by a stone deck.
Where do you find a place like this? Probably, you never will. Hidden discreetly in Billy’s Bay, St Elizabeth. The bird-centric house, completed 17 years ago, has accomplished a marginal makeover after being purchased last year by its new owners, Mary Harmon and her husband.
Mary has been heavily involved in the construction industry; this is her retirement home. A 30 year dream – realised!
