Coconut Trendzy x Body by WATO drops summer-ready athleisure

Just in time for a summer of movement and mindful living, the debut of the Coconut Trendzy x Body by WATO athleisure collection brought fresh, stylish energy to Jamaica’s fitness scene. Launched at the Coconut Runway Show in St Andrew, the collaboration fused tropical design with performance-ready function, offering style that supports every stretch, squat, and stride.
Founded in September 2019, Body by WATO – short for Workout Attire That Outperforms – emerged from a deeply personal transformation.
What began as one woman’s wellness journey has evolved into a Jamaican-born lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering individuals through fashion that supports their physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.
WATO’s Butterfly and Wolf emblems, which were proudly featured in the show, symbolise rebirth and dominance – reminders of the strength it takes to show up for yourself daily, both in and out of the gym.
Designer Ackeilia Caine, founder of Trendzy by Ackeilia, saw this partnership as more than a fashion statement, it was a call to action.
“Summer always inspires movement, whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual. It’s a time when people reconnect with themselves, their goals, and their glow,” she told Lifestyle.
She went on, “This collection was designed to reflect that shift. We wanted women to feel unstoppable the moment they step into these fits.”
The runway showcased four distinct athleisure looks, each designed to transition effortlessly from high-energy workouts to casual summer outings or relaxed lounge days.
“Each piece was crafted with breathable, stretch-enhanced fabrics that contour the body, offer support in key areas like the core, glutes, and upper body,” Caine explained. “[This] allow[s] for a full range of motion, without compromising on style.”
Among the standout designs was the Cocolemon shorts set, a stylish two-tone ensemble featuring a crisscross top in coconut green and off-white, paired with V-cut high-waisted shorts that offer a flattering fit and a tropical-inspired energy for active summer days.
The Palm Power leggings set blends earthy tones with performance elegance, boasting a sleek ivory front top with a contrasting brown X-back, paired with high-rise leggings and a gathered waist for a flattering, secure fit, powering through workout days.
Designed for a more sculpted silhouette, the Coco Fit bodysuit came in soft off-white with brown piping, bootcut legs, and a dramatic open back with adjustable crisscross straps. Its sister piece, the Shell Shock bodysuit, made a bold statement in deep brown with off-white accents.
More than just activewear, the collection was presented as a lifestyle offering – designed to meet the growing demand for fitness-forward, versatile everyday wear.
In addition to the collaboration pieces, Body by WATO introduced several new standalone releases, expanding its range with versatile, performance-driven designs. The Jewel shorts set features a sculpted sports bra with supportive straps and high-waisted shorts in a jewel-toned finish.
The Trista shorts set features breathable fabric designed for ease of movement and all-day comfort. The Kacy set features a sleek, long-sleeve cropped top with a second-skin fit and high-waisted leggings that contour the body, offering support and flexibility for workouts or casual wear.
Meanwhile, the Danai set stands out with compact fabric structure and support, ideal for both intense training and laid-back days.
With WATO’s focus on performance-driven apparel and Trendzy’s design-forward approach, the collaboration aimed to bridge the gap between functional gym wear and fashion-conscious street style.
