Love was not just the theme; it was the atmosphere, as close to 300 patrons from across Jamaica, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom gathered last Saturday evening at the Round Hill Hotel and Villas for the annual Sugar Cane Ball, staged by Hanover Charities.

The women arrived in a mix of designer dresses, glamour flowing as effortlessly as the champagne, and the gentlemen matched their elegance and pizazz step for step. But beyond the glittering gowns and tailored tuxedos, there was something deeper in the room: purpose.

Held under the theme, ‘One Love’, on Valentine’s Day, the evening once again proved why it is regarded as the most profitable one-night charity event in Jamaica.
