JPS wants more customers to accept e-bills

The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) has reported that almost 180,000 of its customers are now receiving electronic bills (E-BILL) exclusively, and it is moving to push this number even higher.

It says the E-BILL has proven to be the medium of choice by customers who were exposed to both, with less than one per cent of customers that tried E-BILL opting to remain with the paper alternative.

However, the utility company says it wants more customers to accept e-billing. It says customers who sign up for E-BILL between now and Heroes Day will receive a welcome discount of J$500 on their next electricity bill.

And it says existing E-BILL customers will have a chance to win tickets to the upcoming Jamaica vs Nicaragua CONCACAF qualifier.

The E-BILL initiative is a part of the energy provider’s environmentally friendly focus on reducing waste, while meeting a major requirement from customers.

The company says it prints and delivers bills that are never opened and many customers are concerned about that waste.
