Scores of sex workers detained in MoBay

WESTERN BUREAU:

Scores of male and female sex workers were this morning taken into custody in a major police operation in Montego Bay.

They are now being processed at the Freeport Police Station.

In recent months, the number of sex workers have increased in the western city primarily  in areas such as Strand Street, Harbour Street, Coral Wall and along sections of the Montego Bay hip strip.

Many of them in soliciting from passersby have reportedly been physical harassing people.

The head of the St James Police Division, SSP Steve McGregor, will be having a press conference this morning to provide details on the operation.
