UPDATE: How a St Thomas teen convict escaped police custody at court

The St Thomas Police have now detailed the circumstances under which an 18-year-old convict escaped police custody at the Yallahs courthouse on Friday.
The police say 18-year-old Romario Dawes was being escorted by a policeman from the courtroom to the holding area when he attacked the cop and escaped.
Dawes who is from Landtop in Port Morant had just been remanded for sentencing on May 4 on conviction of shop breaking, robbery and aggravated assault.
Following the escape, the police intensified searches and other operations in St Thomas.
