Wheatley summons Petrojam Board over "grave and troubling matters"

Minister of Science, Energy and Technology Dr Andrew Wheatley today summoned the three Jamaican directors on the Petrojam Board to a meeting.

The directors present were Chairman Dr. Perceval Bahado Singh, Richard Creary and Harold Malcolm.

In a statement, Wheatley says his decision to call the meeting was prompted by the preliminary findings of an investigation into several grave and troubling matters at Petrojam which have dominated public discourse in recent weeks.

There have been concerns about multi-million dollars expenditures undertaken by the agency.

Wheatley says he will use the powers to take decisive action to deal with all the matters currently affecting the state-owned entity.

He says he's asking the public for patience as he addresses all relevant issues.
