'Chucky' Brown sentencing postponed again

The sentencing of murder-convicted police Constable Collis 'Chucky' Brown has again been postponed.

The matter did not proceed today as scheduled because the Home Circuit Court is no longer in session as the Christmas term ended yesterday.

Brown's sentencing was subsequently pushed back to January 25.

This is the second time the policeman's sentence is being postponed.

The hearing was previously scheduled for December 20, 2018, but presiding judge Justice Vivene Harris indicated that the social enquiry and probation reports needed to be tested.

She subsequently ordered those who contributed to the reports to appear in court on the day of sentencing.

Brown was convicted on November 15, 2018, of the January 10, 2009 murder of Damoy 'Gutty' Dawkins and the December 13, 2012 murders of Dwayne Douglas and Andrew Fearon.

Both incidents happened in Clarendon.
