Christmas comes early to five St Catherine primary schools

The Pauline Beecher Christmas Charity on Sunday brought smiles to 47 students of five primary schools in St Catherine.
During a ceremony, which took place at the Charlemont Open Bible Church, students, parents and teachers said thanks for the $270,000 early Christmas gift.
“I am very thankful for this positive development which serves to provide several students with meaningful assistance. The gesture is well received as times are hard and, therefore, whenever there is something positive that benefits the students, it’s appreciated,” said Principal Melbourne Thompson of Bermaddy Primary School.
The function included several tributes in song, speech and dance to celebrate the occasion.
Beecher made a passionate presentation during which she implored parents, guardians and recipients to pray and be thankful for the token of appreciation.
“I prayed for $270,000 and it manifest. Therefore, we must be thankful as, for the last 10 years, we have been able to assist with this gesture at Christmas,” Beecher said.
Each primary school student was the recipient of $5,000 while two tertiary students got $10,000 each.
The beneficiaries are Bermaddy Primary, Cedar Valley Primary, Jericho Primary, Time and Patience Primary and Simon Primary.
Beecher committed to continuing to assist those in the various schools who stand to benefit.
