The Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW) received 70 hospital beds from the Florida-based NGO Advent Health and the Andrews Memorial Hospital valued at $27.7 million. The beds, to be distributed to public hospitals across the island, were officially handed over to the ministry during a ceremony held at the Andrews Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church on April 10. Here, Pastor Everett Brown (left), chairman of Andrews Memorial Hospital; Errol Greene, permanent secretary, Ministry of Health & Wellness (centre); and Dr Audrey Gregory, CEO, Advent Health East Florida Division, cut the ribbon to symbolise the official handover of the beds. This donation marks the second of its kind to the MOHW by the two Seventh-day Adventist healthcare institutions.
