The opposition People's National Party (PNP) is forgoing the public session of its annual conference following its defeat at the September 3 polls.

However, it has scheduled its private session for November 30.

The date was communicated to officers of the party in a communique from the PNP secretariat.

The election of party president and vice presidents is set to take place on November 15, if there are excess nominees for the positions, the communique said.

The meeting of its National Executive Council, the highest decision-making body outside of its annual conference, is scheduled for December 7.

The schedule of events is expected to coincide with the period in which the ruling Jamaica Labour Party traditionally holds its annual conference in November.
