A man was on Tuesday fatally shot by the police in May Pen, Clarendon.

It is being alleged that the deceased, identified by the alias ‘Satan’, attacked the police with a machete.

The man is believed to be of an unsound mind.

Reports are that about 11:20 a.m., the police responded to a call about an incident along Bromanty Street in May Pen.

The man was reportedly armed with a machete, which he allegedly used to attack the police.

The police say the cops took evasive action, during which he was shot.

He was assisted to the May Pen Hospital, where he died.

The Independent Commission of Investigations has since launched a probe into the matter.
