New Yorkers woke Monday morning to an enticing invitation from the Jamaica Tourist Board, encouraging tri-state residents to begin making travel plans for Jamaica Carnival in April 2026.

A vibrant television segment aired on the New York Living morning show on PIX11, hosted by popular television personality Marysol, showcased the energy and colour of carnival in Jamaica. The segment was filled with striking visuals of the island’s lively carnival scene, scenic resort areas, and breathtaking attractions.

The spokesperson for Jamaica was Victoria Harper, district sales manager for the Jamaica Tourist Board (Northeastern US), who highlighted the many reasons travellers continue to be drawn to the island year after year.

“Jamaica Carnival is an explosion of colour, music and culture,” said Harper, a former Miss Jamaica USA and Miss Jamaica World runner-up. “It’s our biggest street party featuring soca music, reggae, elaborate costumes, and the authentic Jamaica energy. What sets it apart is the combination of the now decades-old carnival tradition alongside Jamaica’s unique vibe — from our music to our food to our warm hospitality.”

With the event still several months away, Marysol asked why travellers should consider booking so early.

The early bird catches the worm,” Harper said. “Booking now means significant savings, with early bird packages offering reduced prices on event tickets, costumes, airfare, and accommodations.”

Visitors are also encouraged to explore beyond Kingston during their stay, combining the carnival experience with trips to resort areas such as Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Port Antonio for a more immersive vacation.

The vibe is electric, the energy contagious, and the memories are everlasting,” Harper added, as images of Jamaica’s iconic waterfalls played across the screen.

Jamaica Carnival has quickly evolved into one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic cultural tourism events. Earlier this year, the 2025 edition attracted over 52,000 participants and generated an estimated US$35 million during its peak week.

For 2026, pre-carnival events will begin on April 8, with the highly anticipated road march set for Sunday, April 12.
