PNP congratulates St Vincent’s New Democratic Party and Dr Godwin Friday on election win
The People’s National Party (PNP) has extended congratulations to the New Democratic Party and Prime Minister-designate Dr Godwin Friday on their victory in the general elections in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Friday's New Democratic Party secured victory in Thursday's election, defeating the Dr Ralph Gonsalves-led United Labour Party (ULP).
The PNP in a statement said this transition marks an important moment for the Vincentian people, who have expressed their confidence in a new direction for their nation.
The party also acknowledged the longstanding public service of outgoing Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, whose leadership contributed significantly to regional cooperation and to the strengthening of CARICOM’s collective voice on global issues.
“We extend our best wishes to Prime Minister-designate Friday and his party as they assume the responsibilities of governance. Jamaica remains committed to working constructively with all CARICOM partners to advance our shared interests in stability, sustainable development, and the upliftment of our Caribbean family,” said PNP President and Leader of the Opposition, Mark Golding.
The PNP says it looks forward to continued collaboration across the region, and reaffirms its belief that strong, democratic transitions support a more united and resilient Caribbean.
