The National Works Agency (NWA) has announced that a section of Spanish Town Road near the Sandy Gully Bridge in Kingston will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic, starting at 9 p.m. today. This is to allow for repairs to a leaking sewerage line.

The closure, which will run from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., begins on Tuesday. The roadway is expected to fully reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday.

Stephen Shaw, manager of communication and customer services at the NWA, explained that westbound traffic heading towards Six Miles will be rerouted onto the eastern carriageway, while the road leading towards Three Miles will accommodate both eastbound and westbound traffic during the repair work.

Motorists are being urged to exercise caution and follow all posted warning signs while the works are ongoing.
