The St Ann police are investigating the death of a fisherman who was found on a reef line in the parish on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Darran Grant of Roaring River district, St Ann.

Grant’s body was observed on a reef line at Dunn’s River, at around 4:31 p.m. Initial investigations suggest that Grant went spear fishing in the area.

A reef line refers to the edge of a coral or rock reef, which is a prime spot for fish.

His body was retrieved and taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Ocho Rios Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating.
