Businessman charged after allegedly threatening man with gun
A businessman who allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened a man during a dispute on Slipe Road, Kingston, has been charged with assault at common law and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The accused is 43-year-old Lerone Nicholson, otherwise called “Nick,” of Succaba Pen, Old Harbour, St Catherine, according to a police statement issued on Satuday.
Nicholson has also been charged with using a firearm to commit a felony.
The Denham Town police say about 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Nicholson was involved in an argument with a man during which he allegedly brandished a firearm, pointed it at him, and issued threats.
The matter was later reported to the police, and an investigation was launched.
Nicholson was taken into custody and charged on Friday, following a question-and-answer session and a recorded statement that implicated him.
