Update | C-TOC senior policeman held allegedly with cocaine charged
The police have charged a senior policeman attached to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC) in relation to the seizure of just over 5.8 kilogrammes of cocaine in Kingston last week.
Detective Inspector Martin Walker, 51, has been charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, trafficking cocaine, and conspiracy.
The police say Walker was interviewed in the presence of his attorney on Saturday, January 10, and was subsequently charged.
He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, January 14.
The police report that about 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, personnel from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division intercepted Walker at a business establishment on Moore Street, Kingston 4.
According to the police, during the operation, Walker’s vehicle was searched and a plastic bag containing the cocaine was found.
The police say the cocaine has an estimated street value of $3.5 million.
Walker was taken into custody.
