Manchester now has JP directory
Residents of Manchester now have access to a comprehensive directory, listing all the Justices of the Peace (JPs) who serve the parish.
The directory, which is available in both hard and soft-copy formats, provides contact information for the JPs, including address, making it easier for members of the public to locate an official to attest documents and perform other civic duties.
“Many of our stakeholders and citizens had complained that it is hard to locate a JP. I am pleased to say that we have created a JP directory for distribution. It will help strengthen communication, coordination and visibility across the parish,” said Custos of Manchester, Garfield Green.
He was speaking at the annual Custos church service under the theme ‘Epiphany: Light for Renewal and Restoration’, held at the Mandeville Baptist Church on Sunday, January 11.
Copies of the directory were distributed following the service, with the parish-wide dissemination to be done later this month.
The custos reiterated his commitment to strengthening the JP corps in the parish, enhancing training and ensuring that they operate with integrity.
“Let us serve with integrity, humility and courage. Let us work together to build a Manchester marked by peace, unity and purpose, and I am asking all JPs to be more visible and more active,” he said.
