MSBM to host information session for aspiring leaders
As Jamaica and the wider Caribbean place increased focus on leadership, innovation, and professional development, the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, will host a Graduate Programmes Information Session on Wednesday, January 28. The event targets professionals and aspiring leaders considering postgraduate study in the year ahead.
The session will be held at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel, Kingston, and is designed for individuals seeking to strengthen their leadership capacity, expand their professional credentials, and position themselves for advancement in an increasingly competitive regional and global business environment.
According to Janice Henlin, director of marketing at MSBM, the Information Session is a critical touchpoint for professionals navigating their next academic and career move.
“At MSBM, we understand that pursuing graduate studies is a significant decision. This session is designed to give prospective students clear, practical insight into our programmes and how they align with real-world leadership demands across the Caribbean and beyond,” Henlin said.
“We want attendees to leave feeling informed, confident, and empowered to take the next step,” she added.
Attendees will receive in-depth information on MSBM’s suite of graduate programmes, including programme structure, areas of specialisation, delivery formats, and admission requirements.
In addition, prospective students will hear from graduates about how a degree from MSBM helped to position them for career advancement. A special feature of the session will be the presentation of education loan products by select financial institutions, offering tuition-fee financing options to participants.
With organisations across the Caribbean placing growing emphasis on strategic leadership, innovation and evidence-based decision-making, MSBM’s programmes are structured to blend academic rigour with practical application.
Dr David McBean, executive director at MSBM, emphasised the school’s commitment to producing graduates equipped to lead with impact.
“Our graduate programmes are built to respond directly to the evolving needs of organisations. We focus on developing professionals who can think critically, lead strategically, and apply knowledge in ways that drive meaningful organisational and societal outcomes,” McBean said.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer segment, receive guidance on the application process, and learn about the academic and professional support services available from enrolment through to graduation.
