Man charged for allegedly stealing from rooms of guests at resort in Tower Isle

A man has been charged after allegedly entering the rooms of guests at a resort in Tower Isle, St Mary, and stealing cash and personal items, including designer bags.

Charged with burglary and larceny is 43-year-old Aneiph Burton, a construction worker of St Margaret’s Bay, Portland.

His court date is to be arranged.

Reports from the Oracabessa police state that about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 25, Burton allegedly entered the rooms of unsuspecting tourists and stole designer bags, wallets, glasses, and cash, with an estimated total value of approximately US$58,000.

The incident was reported to police, prompting an investigation.

During the investigation, CCTV footage reportedly implicated Burton.

He was taken into custody and subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session.
