Three arrested after M16 rifle, over 70 rounds of ammunition seized in Clarendon police operation

The police in Clarendon on Tuesday seized more than 70 rounds of ammunition and an M16 rifle during an operation in Havana Heights, Denbigh, and arrested three persons.
The police report that about 5:15 a.m., members of the Specialised Operations Branch, Search Centre, and Canine Division, acting on information, carried out a targeted operation at a premises in the community.
The police say that during the operation, an M16 rifle, along with a magazine and a bottle containing forty-five 5.56mm rounds, was found in an abandoned pig pen.
A further search of the premises revealed an extended 9mm magazine containing thirty-two 9mm rounds, which was hidden in the back of a car parked on the property, according to the police.
Three persons were arrested following the seizure.
Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
