The Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) is reporting that 13 gaming machines with an estimated combined value of $5 million were seized during recent enforcement operations.
The commission said the operations targeted four premises in Dover, St Mary on October 29, and Waltham Park, St Andrew on October 30.
It noted that, of the machines seized, six had never been licensed, three were operating on expired licences, and four were operating outside their prescribed premises.
The agency said the seizures form part of the commission’s ongoing work with the Jamaica Constabulary Force to detect and disrupt illegal gaming operations across Jamaica.
The commission is reminding individuals and businesses that compliance goes beyond obtaining a licence: licences must remain current, and gaming machines must be operated at their prescribed premises.
