Montego Bay United Football Club (MBU) will temporarily return to Jarrett Park as its official home when the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) resumes on December 7.

The announcement was made on the team’s social media pages on Wednesday.

The Catherine Hall Sports Complex, which was the team's official home, was severely damaged by flood waters during the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

The MBU statement said the club's first game at Jarrett Park will be against Waterhouse FC on December 21 at 3 p.m.

"This marks a major step in restoring normalcy and community spirit across Montego Bay following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa," it said.

Jarrett Park, long regarded as the home of football in Western Jamaica, has hosted generations of legendary matches, and MBU said its reopening for Premier League football symbolises not just a return to sport, but the resilience, unity, and unbreakable spirit of Montego Bay and its people.

"Football is coming home, and MBU is ready," said Yoni Epstein, Chairman MBU. "The city has gone through a challenging period, but our community has shown tremendous strength. Bringing competitive football back to Jarrett Park is another strong step in rebuilding, uplifting, and moving forward together."

The decision to return to Jarrett Park was made in partnership with local authorities, community stakeholders, and supporters.

MBU said final preparations are under way to ensure a safe, vibrant, and electric match-day environment for fans, players, and families.
