Dunbehlden were in a goal-scoring mood yesterday in Wray and Nephew-sponsored Jamaica Premier League (JPL) action as they thrashed Treasure Beach 4-2 at home to move just two points away from a play-off spot.

Dunbeholden were comfortable victors in a six-goal thriller as a hat-trick from Damion Binns and a lone strike from Stephen Barnett led them way to victory.

Treasure Beach found their consolation goals through Raheem Porter and Lajon Livingstone.

In the only other game played yesterday, 10-man Montego Bay United held Harbour View to a 2-2 draw at the Harbour View Stadium.

It was a pair of braces for each club as Trayvon Reid scored twice for the Stars of the East, while captain Lucas Lima bagged two goals for Montego Bay United.

With the results, Montego Bay stretched their lead atop the table to eight points as they sit with 50 points, ahead of Racing United and Portmore United on 42 each.

Both Racing and Portmore, however, hold a game in hand and have the chance to cut the lead down to five points.

Harbour View are 13th in the standings on 20 points, five ahead of the bottom team Spanish Town Police on 15.

Dunbeholden, with their win, moved to 29 points and sit ninth, two points off from Waterhouse, who currently sit in the final play-off spot with 31.

Treasure Beach slumped to a second consecutive defeat and seven games without a win, and are just outside the relegation zone with 22 points in 12th place.

Incidentally, it was Treasure Beach who opened the scoring in their encounter as Porter found the back of the net in the third minute of play, but they soon found themselves on the back foot.

Binns scored the first of his hat-trick haul to pull level in the 40th minute, but handing Dunbeholden the lead in the time added of the first half.

Barnett made it 3-1 to Dunbeholden just before the hour mark, before Livingstone pulled one back for Treasure Beach in the 85th minute.

With just seconds left on the clock, Binns completed his double as he made it 4-2 in Dunbeholden’s favour.

Action in the JPL will continue today as Racing United take on Chapelton Maroons at 5 p.m., before Arnett Gardens face Spanish Town Police in Monday Night Football.

Both games will be played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
