Bolt sprints into Roblox

World Athletics is taking over the popular Roblox game Track & Field: Infinite, with a star appearance from the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt.

To celebrate the new World Athletics Ultimate Championship, the sport’s governing body has partnered with Track & Field: Infinite, the most popular athletics experience on the online gaming platform, with some help from Ultimate Legend Bolt.

The fan experience surrounding the Ultimate Championship does not end when the elite action concludes. The Roblox takeover gives fans the opportunity to challenge friends, climb the global leaderboard, and compete from anywhere in the world.

It is the Ultimate Championship inside your favourite game.

In Track & Field: Infinite, players can compete in a range of athletics disciplines, including sprints, hurdles, jumps, and relays. They can earn gold stars by achieving specific goals in each event, such as winning races or beating target times, some of which have been set by a non-player character (NPC) version of Bolt.

The Roblox takeover is one of several innovations introduced for the Ultimate Championship, providing fans with new ways to engage with the sport.

The World Athletics Ultimate Championship, which takes place from September 11-13, is designed to settle the debate over who is the best of the best, with world champions, Olympic champions, Wanda Diamond League winners, and the year’s top-ranked athletes all striving to be crowned champion of champions. The inaugural edition will feature a historic prize purse of US$10 million.

While Bolt’s participation will be limited to the virtual world, 27 Jamaicans are set to showcase their talents across the three days of competition.

Reigning world champion Oblique Seville and Diamond League champion Tina Clayton lead the Jamaican contingent.

Clayton will be joined by Jonielle Smith, Lavanya Williams, Brianna Lyston, and Jodean Williams.

Seville, meanwhile, will be accompanied by Ackeem Blake in the men’s sprint events.

Bryan Levell and Christopher Taylor will contest the 200 metres, while Ashanti Moore and Jodean Williams compete in the women’s equivalent.

In the women’s 400 metres, Stacey-Ann Williams and Nickisha Pryce will be on the stаrt list, while Ackera Nugent, Demisha Roswell, Megan Simmonds, and Danielle Williams line up in the sprint hurdles.

Rushell Clayton, Sanique Walker, and Shiann Salmon will contest the 400m hurdles.

Lamara Distin will compete in the high jump while Ackelia Smith takes on the long jump.

Demario Prince, Orlando Bennett, and Tyler Mason will chase the US$150,000 winner’s prize in the men’s 110m hurdles.

Tajay Gayle will compete in the men’s long jump while Romaine Beckford will challenge in the high jump.
