St Ann, St Catherine CC remain unbeaten in JCA Super 50

St Ann and St Catherine Cricket Club (CC) maintained their perfect records in the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Super 50 limited-overs competition, securing dominant victories in the latest round three matches.
At the Port Rhodes Sports Complex, St Ann defeated Trelawny by three wickets.
Trelawny, who were asked to bat first, struggled against a disciplined St Ann bowling attack, posting 135 all out in 36 overs.
Romaine Hines provided the bulk of the resistance with a fighting 54 batting at number nine, while Howard Palmer contributed 30.
Damani Sewell was the chief destroyer for St Ann, bagging five for 24.
In reply, St Ann chased down the target, reaching 139 for seven in 27.5 overs. Sashane Anderson anchored the innings with a solid 58 to ensure his team crossed the line.
At Chedwin Park, St Catherine CC produced a mammoth batting display to crush G.C. Foster College by 203 runs. Winning the toss and electing to bat, the ‘Saints’ piled up a massive 431 for six in their allotted 50 overs.
Opener Kevon Lettman led the charge with a blistering 125, while National batsman Carlos Brown supported with 109. Captain Jeavor Royal added a quickfire 41.
G.C. Foster’s chase was derailed early by Royal, who followed his batting cameo with a destructive spell of three for 25.
Wayne Plummer provided excellent support with two for 40. Despite a valiant 68 from Captain Sanjay Walker and 59 from Dantay Dillion, G.C. Foster were bowled out for 228 in 48.1 overs.
Elsewhere, Kensington CC defeated Kingston and St Andrew by seven wickets.
KSACA were bundled out for a paltry 82 in 17.3 overs, with Javian McFarlane top-scoring with 27. Seamer Jamie Hay was the pick of the bowlers with five for 34, while Othniel Howell (2-6) and Alex Hinds (2-34) offered good support.
Kensington made light work of the target, reaching 83 for three in 13 overs, thanks to Javardi Francis (40 not out) and Corey Hinds (18 not out).
At Collie Smith Drive, Lucas held on to beat Boys’ Town by 12 runs. Lucas posted 193 all out, powered by Maurice Harrow’s 77.
Warren Robinson (3-26) and Shaquille Greenwood (3-31) were the standout bowlers for Boys’ Town.
In reply, Boys’ Town fell for 181 in 32.3 overs. Malik Thompson played a lone hand with 89, as Brandon English (4-23) and Nicholas Lewin (3-30) sealed the win for Lucas.
In a high-octane contest at Derrymore Road, Melbourne CC turned back the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) by 87 runs. Melbourne amassed 315 all out in 49.2 overs, with Shalome Parnell (60), Sadique Henry (54), and Kimani Wilson (51) all getting among the runs. Kevin Daley was the best bowler for JDF with three for 59.
In the run chase, JDF were bowled out for 228 in 33.4 overs. Captain Kevin Daley fought bravely with a century, scoring 107, and Deetmar Anderson made 49.
However, Khari Campbell produced a magical spell of six for 34 to rip through the JDF line-up.
In other results, UWI beat Portland CA by nine wickets. St Elizabeth CA defeated Westmoreland CA by 99 runs (DLS method), Manchester CA beat St Catherine CA by eight wickets, and Mico stopped St Mary CA by 217 runs.
