Jamaica came up trumps once again at the World Travel Awards Gala for the Caribbean on Friday, October 29, when for the sixth consecutive year, the country was voted the Caribbean's Leading Cruise Destination. For the second successive year, Ocho Rios was voted the Leading Caribbean Cruise Port.

The Port Authority of Jamaica's (PAJ) vice-president for Cruise Shipping and Marina Operations, William Tatham, accepted the awards at the gala, held at Sandals Whitehouse in Westmoreland, on behalf of the PAJ, which has responsibility for cruise shipping.

The various awards are determined each year through ballots by thousands of professionals in the travel industry worldwide, who elect the winners for the various categories.
