Below are Facebook responses to yesterday's lead story: 'No help came - Hospital's alleged negligence leaves new mother in coma'.

The Jamaican people need to stand up and fight for their right, even if it means to start a revolution, this is a disgrace

This is the stuff that nightmare is made of.

This is total slackness.

Bwoy, I don't know what to say ... and when them done, you see dem a roadside with placard about them want more pay. Mi vex for that, man.

This is a disgrace to the nursing profession. To think that in this time and age this can happen. No excuse can ever be good enough. People's lives are in their hands. They need to be more responsible.

I hope the common-law husband get a good lawyer and sue them. This is absolutely ridiculous! You can't treat people this way when the hospital is the place to go when you need medical care. Not even in an animal hospital this happens. Justice is needed here.

- Althea Graham Dixon

Makes no sense. Might as well she stayed home and had the baby there. Then we could say she's in a coma because she didn't get any attention at home, but a woman in labour that goes to the hospital should get the help her tax dollars are paying for.

I was there two years ago. Bad things happened. I saw a lady on a bed in the delivery room. The nurse was on the other side of the room saying, "Push, a no di first time you come in ya."
